| Line pipe is manufactured in sizes ranging from 1 1/2 inch through 24 inch diameters and will handle pressures from 225 (1,6 MPa) to 4,000 psi (27,6 MPa) and temperatures up to 210 degrees Fahrenheit (98.9 C) depending on size. Standard length per joint of pipe is 30 feet nominal. These products are used to transport highly corrosive fluids primarily found in enhanced oil recovery activities. In these applications, high pressure FRP injection lines carry station to injection wells. Additionally, line pipe is also used in lower to medium pressure gas and oil flow lines where corrosive fluids are encountered. STAR® line pipe has a 20 year hoop stress (LCL) rating of 20,255 psi at 150 degrees F according to ASTM D-2992 Procedure B. While the epoxy resin system contributes to the chemical and temperature resistance, the fiberglass reinforcement provides the greater load carrying characteristics. |
